Software Resources To Scan My Hard Drive

Postby Olorin123 on Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:57 pm

Hi. I did a brief Google search and I must be brain dead on the best search terms but what I am looking for is a *RELIABLE* program I can run that will sniff out the remnants of my stash so I can get rid of it for good. I didn't do anything particularly clever to hide it, I just have a rather large number of files and folders to look through. When I was here before, I think there was a program that was recommended. Can anyone offer some suggestions?

By *RELIABLE* I mean that I don't want just anyone searching my hard drive. And I don't want to trade the problem of residual porn for freshly installed malware or a new case of identity theft.

Thanks!

I did a couple restore to factory condition computer runs, though even after that I got one of those "porn infected" flags coming up, which is a scam anyway, they are just looking for gullible people to push the panic button.

One technique in recovery is to set up a "savings" fund and put a certain amount of money in it for each sobriety goal attained. For example putting a $1 into a piggy bag each day you are sober. Then once you have saved up a goodly amount use it to buy yourself something good as a "reward". In your case, why not set aside money for a new computer? A new, unpolluted, P-free computer.
