A dream, a vision . . . hope for a better tomorrow!

Recently my wife and I have been listening to an audio book: "Love and War: Finding the Marriage You've Dreamed Of" by John & Stasi Eldredge. So today I mentioned to her that I really like the idea that our marriage (and all marriages) can be even more than it is now. And then she said, yes, 15 years ago I was very unhappy in our marriage. I felt alone. It seemed like all you wanted me for was sex. I felt like I was raising our youngest child all alone. You seemed so distant. I didn't even know about your problem with P, but I knew that something was wrong.

It has been a while since she has said those things to me. So now how do I feel? Very sad. Sad that she felt that way. Sad that if it is not completely true, it is mostly true and that I am to blame. But also I need to feel grateful. Grateful that I finally woke up. I came to this board (the old board) and talked about my problem and found friends and found help. I finally worked up the courage to confess my sin to the one I love the most. I practically killed her in the process. But she hung with me. She gave me another chance. And here we are today. Loving each other and loving our grandchildren.

Thank God for hope! Thank God that with His help and our efforts that a new tomorrow is possible!

:D :D :D :D

And I'm glad that you continue to work on being a better husband and in a better marriage. And that she (and my wife, too) stayed with us.
8 years, I'm so grateful!
