Wes,
Let me add my voice to the many in praise of Ten Keys. If any addicts or partners of addicts have not yet read it, I urge them to do so right now. If I ever work up the courage to be totally open with my SO, I will start by showing her this book.
Three things that stood out for me:
* We use P to deaden some kind of pain, but P can never make it go away and will tend to make it worse. Sometimes we just have to learn to live with that pain.
* Helping or serving someone else in difficulty can help us in our own recovery.
* The importance of opening up to another individual and the benefits that will bring.
The third one is my stumbling block at present. But your book will push me past it eventually. You started from a much more abject place than me (I've never crawled under a house to get to P or MBed in a moving car) but now you've been sober for a very long period. If you can do it, I can.

I thought that I could get by casually surfing this site and not buy the 10 keys.
Wow... was I wrong!
I read enough people who were really enthusiastic about this that I decided to download it. I have read it through completely once and I am reading it again now.
There are so many true statements: for example:
I made a distinction that I think is important: You might have an addiction if you want to stop, but you don’t want to stop and believe you can’t.
What really impresses me about the 10 keys is that it is written "starkly and honestly" the author really gets into the "nature of the beast" and how terrible the addiction can be.
Sometimes it is painful to read because it
HITS SO" CLOSE TO HOME!! - -and that is the point my friends.\
I like the 10 keys because it as if a Greek philosopher was sitting in front of me telling me scenarios and helping me to think.
This book is "interpretive" it does not SpOoN FeEd YoU it is makes your think! It is worth the money and frankly it is a small payment for those who make this site possible.
Thanks

Ten Keys,
One of the best purchases I have ever made. This book has given me new insights that might have taken me years to discover on my own.
I am not my addiction!
Wes you truly have created a gem. This book may not be a cure, but it has truly enlightened me. Thank you for bravely putting your own journey into words to help others. This is truly a book I will read again and again. How can one say how truly helpful this book has been?
Thank you again Wes.

After wasting a third of my life trying to find the way out, the simple, reasonable, yet powerful techniques I got from the TK changed my life.
The understanding of Lust and the nature of our addiction finally empowered me to fight and defeat it.
The affirmations designed to build internal countermeasures to the effects of the addiction made me resistant to the "Beast".
Thank you, WES, for putting your most personal, private battle out in front for all to see, and for giving us all hope in the process.

I finished reading 'Ten Keys' this morning and I found it to be a very powerful and inspirational book on how to go about fighting this addiction. I have been struggling with my addiction for more than 30 years. I didn't realize I had an addiction until I found this site two years ago. I have been relapsing with some regularity even though I have been trying what has been suggested on the forum. In the middle of a binge I downloaded the book. It didn't stop my binge but it did give me insight on how i may go about controlling my addiction.
Thanks Wes. I plan on rereading the book again very soon and finding more material to read to help me get over this horrible, debilitating affliction that I suffer with.

I got the book yesterday morning and read the entire thing. Amazing. It has changed my life forever. Thank you so much for the time and effort that you put in the book, into the website, and into helping others. I'm actively engaged in calming my beast and I feel so much better. 4 days ago was the most depressed day of my life and today I feel like I'm on top of the world. I'm so much happier! I feel for once that I will be able to control myself!!! Thank you Wes. From the bottom of my heart.

Folks... I am 75 days "p" free now and I could not have done it withough the "10-Keys".
It is worth every cent.
MAKE YOURSELF READ IT!
Also... This site has been a "lifesaver for me". Because of My "addictive nature" to any kind of forums I have to "ration" my time here. But the positive attitudes and support resonate throughout this forum.
I listen to the "ANTI-VOICE" now instead of the "VOICE"
Thanks again Wes!
